MIDI Music Information
Blue Mountain Arts is delighted to provide electronic greeting cards that offer the possibility of musical accompaniment. Many card users will be able to enjoy this music if they own computers that have an audio component (sound card) and speakers (which are turned on) and are using a web browser that is configured to play MIDI music.

MIDI (pronounced middy) is an acronym for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. Originally developed by the electronic music industry a number of years ago, the MIDI feature is available on most Macs and PCs with sound cards and allows them to edit, store and play musical sound information.

To correctly receive and play the MIDI on our cards sound strongly suggest you upgrade to the following versions of browser software:

Firefox available at http://www.mozilla.com/firefox
America On-Line (AOL) 7.0
Internet Explorer 7.0, available at www.microsoft.com

In addition to one of the above browsers you may also need a MIDI music plugin. We recommend the following free MIDI plugins:

AOL and Internet Explorer users: Windows Media Player, available at www.microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer

Blue Mountain Arts is a leader in developing electronic greeting cards with a MIDI-generated attendant music.

OTHER SOUND FEATURES OF OUR CARDS

Some of the Blue Mountain electronic cards offer sound through a non-digital format including the "Howling Wolf". Many Browsers are able to pick up these sounds. Java is not necessary for general sound capability, unless you are on a Unix system.
