An Irish Ditty

If I sang you a true Irish ditty, That would let you see me heart, I'd say I feel lucky you know you And I've felt that way right from the start. The thing about most Irish folksongs is they bring a wee tear to your eye - somebody drinking and brawlin' or somebody's going to die. The music is beautifully written, The tunes all have lovely refrains. 'tis the lyrics that get kinda gory - Full of stabbings and bashin' of brains. Those ditties don't have happy endings Like the song that I'd sing just for you, Wishing all of your days would be magic And all of your dreams would come true. If I sang to the world 'bout our friendship, And the laughter and joy that is ours. And cause retchin' in most Irish bars! Hope your St. Paddy's Day begins and ends on a happy note!
