Inhabiting the alpine and subalpine zones of Asia from Afghanistan to Pakistan to Tibet, the snow leopard, with its powerful legs, can jump as far as 50 feet in a single bound. World Wildlife Fund (WWF) supports research and habitat conservation projects for the snow leopard in Nepal. WWF endeavors to put a stop to the illegal traffic in endangered cat skins as well as to create and maintain reserves to protect them and other endangered species.
