Thanksgiving is a time for one to be thankful for what they have and help those that are less fortunate. So in the true spirit of the holiday, several Blue Mountain employees, along with some family and friends, devoted a Saturday in November to help local families in need. The goal of the day was to pack up and provide local families with enough food to prepare a full Thanksgiving feast to share with their loved ones. Along with the Rocky River Junior Women's Club, we were able to make this year's Thanksgiving a reality for over 70 families in the area!
The Rocky River Assistance Program (RRAP), initiated in 1984 by the Rocky River Junior Women's Club, is an established community resource for residents in need of food and clothing.
Rocky River Assistance Program's goal each month is to provide participants with food and household products for seven days every month. In addition, children on the program receive new seasonal clothes and items from their holiday wish list. RRAP also fulfills special requests for household items and provides family members with scholarships and waived fees for various Rocky River programs.
Thank you to the Rocky River Junior Women's Club for collecting enough food and monetary donations to make this Thanksgiving possible for so many families.
