Janice Wisinski, New York

When planning the Blue Mountain Cares site, we thought it was important to highlight people who inspire us. Unanimously, we decided to launch with Janice Wisinski, our colleague from New York City. This past January, Janice was diagnosed with an inoperable cancerous brain tumor - Grade III Anaplastic Astrocytoma, while she was 7 months pregnant. She spent a few weeks in the hospital before delivering her baby girl, Haylee, who arrived on February 15th via c-section. Unfortunately Janice wasn’t able to enjoy the early days of motherhood as she spent time in the hospital being treated for her brain tumor, undergoing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation but today Janice is back home and slowly regaining her strength. She is doing well and feeling better and surrounded by the people who mean the most to her, her husband Jason and daughter Haylee.

What inspires us about Janice is her spirit and her uplifting positive attitude. Even in the most difficult of times, she prefers hopes and prayers rather than sympathy. She has taught us all about what it means to look forward and to never give up and that is why she is our first Blue Mountain Cares Everyday Inspiration.
