“What to Write…” in Friendship Cards

What to Write... in Friendship Cards

This week is National Friendship Week, and the perfect time to share some ideas on what to write in friendship cards. Friendship cards are special because the whole reason to send one is no reason at all – it’s just because you want to let someone know how much they mean to you, to make them laugh, or simply put a smile on their face.  After choosing the perfect friendship card or friendship ecard, there are plenty of options you can add to give the card a one-of-a-kind feeling. Quotes, poems and unique messaging make great additions. See some of our favorites below.

Friendship Quotes:

Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend. _ Albert Camus

One of the most beautiful qualities of true friendship is to understand and to be understood. _ Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies. _ Aristotle

Friendship Poems:

  • Friendship is a place
    where we feel at home
    from the very start.
    Where kindness comes in smiles
    and comfort soothes the heart.
    Friendship is a place
where old and dear friends grow.
And friends like you are treasured
    for the thoughtfulness you show.

  • The door is always open
for you to come right in,
    If you should ever need
    the comfort of a friend.

  • Friends can be silly and sassy,
    cool and classy,
    fun and funny too;
    But the best kind
    of friend
    is all-in-one,
    and that kind of friend
    is you!

Friendship Messages:

  • When two friends are this perfectly matched,
there is no question – either we’re clones,
or, we’re just the luckiest friends in the universe!

  • There are just those times in your life
when having a true friend means everything.
I can’t even tell you how often
    I’m so thankful there’s you.

  • Good friends don’t just tell you to reach for your dreams – they give you boosts.
Having you in my life lifts me up with laughter, encouragement
and strength in a way that only good friends can.

Origami Soul

Origami Soulby Brian MacDougall

Kami… thin, flat, and open,
Full of infinite possibilities.
Soft, artistic hands, wrinkled with wisdom,
Ready to embark on the ancient practice,

Polyhedra past lives from countless directions,
Converge at vertices, wisdom aggregated…
Some from afar, some more recent,
All treasured and unique.

Shapes emerging from folds
Are more than merely decorative,
Honoring the magic of tradition and ancestry,
Lineage too precious to ignore.

If the soul could be seen
Beyond its aura,
Would it not resemble
The art of origami?

Each a different shape
Of noble complexity,
Every one carefully crafted with
Purpose and foresight.

Ever marvel at the symmetry
And scope captured in each crease?
At the same awesome spectacle
Of life’s journey?

An ancient art
practiced to perfection,
Mimicking our sacred paths,
Recorded before time.
